Conducted by the composer, Sehnsucht Symphony, a 40-minute, 6-movement work for 92 musicians received its premiere recording for future release by the Brno Philharmonic Orchestra at the historic Besední dům (designed by architect Theophil Hansen and built between 1870 and 1873), home of the Philharmonic.
Sehnsucht Symphony was commissioned by VuViVo Ministries (Tampa, FL.) and is based on a book by the ministry’s founder, Zach Elliott. The work will be featured in an upcoming documentary, which will detail its inception, the composer’s process, and the parallel creative journeys of Caravassilis and Elliott.
